This series of paintings are part of my first solo exhibition, called "Miradas de Aire" (Airy Glances), which will be showing untill August 31st in "Es Magatzem de Can Jordi", in Ibiza island.This is the facebook event:

I am just amazed by this piece. SO extraordinary. So touching. I know a young lady who looks a lot like this. She has brown hair, though. I often draw her face. Those lips set low in the face, the almond shaped eyes...WOW!

What brand of water colors do you use? I currently have a cheap set that seems to granulate on harder surfaces as it dries. I'm not sure if this is how all brands react to such a surface though. Nice work btw, I enjoy the colors. I've been thinking of ways to include fall colors in a piece as well as the fall theme.

I use windsor&newton, and I haven't had that problem... It could be the watercolours, but also the paper. I would suggest that you try different brands of paint and paper and see what works best for you...

Have you used your watercolors on any hot press material? I'm using strathmore illustration board, 500 plate. Since it's hot press it lacks absorbency. I figured the colors puddling were responsible for the granulation I'm experiencing. Then I figured it could simply be the quality of water color. Thanks for the response

My favorite part is the blindfold: all the detail you put into the folds in the cloth. I can't imagine doing this in traditional medium. :\
