Description
After Apollo 11 landed in 1969, The Soviets landed in 1970. Then the British decided to put someone of their own on the Moon. After Apollo 17 landed in 1972, the United States decided to give their allies the schematics to their Saturn V rocket, LEM, CSM, A7L and A7LB suits so they can also get involved in this ongoing Space Race. They used Saturn V schematics for the height of their rocket and the base design would be a Black Arrow rocket derivative. The rocket would also have 16 F-1 engines on the first stage. Inside would be the LDS (Lunar Descent System). The LDS was full descent stage. So unlike Apollo, 3 people could go down in one go.
The newly built Jupiter V launched the Saxony 7 mission on June 3rd 1976 and landed on June 7th 1976. The British put their first 3 people on the Moon. They would follow up with Saxony 8 which was the last British Moon mission in 1979. The mission was a success. The British wouldn't return to the Moon until well after Artemis in 2025 AD. In the late 21st century, the Jupiter V is one of the many historical rockets displayed in the Space Rockets of History Rocket Garden in the United States.
