This captures the sense of dread and hope that the play embodied. You don't get that sense with the original art with the two male angels, more is the pity, since it does deal with a lot of the rage the male gay community leveled at itself and others during that time. I do wish, however, that the requesite wings would be on one of the figures as it otherwise could be mistaken for a pre-production sketch for something like "Sin City" or a sequel to it. Otherwise, I love the sense of vulnerability and drama set against a familiar cityscape. Bravo!

I have this thing for industrial zones & muted colors. So basically, I love this piece. The atmosphere is eerie & dark & misty & beautiful. I really appreciate the back lighting behind both of the girls (most specifically behind the right one). The perspective is a wonderful change up to a stark & flat city scape. Everything is just one big thing blending into the other & I really really like that.

this is a critique but i don't have premium so im writing it on here,lol.
first off,the color scheme is brilliant,quite haunting,smooth and silky smothering the crisp lines of certainty in an Erie gray.i have seen angels in America (not in a long time but i have) and a looming sort of morbid beauty that is illustrated in the painting is perfect for the movie.the expressions are quite candid of human expressions,they are a blend of more blunt facial expressions,giving it a much more human tone,provoking much deeper emotions.the composition is splendid,slightly off kilter just enough to warp your reality a bit.the way they are holding each other,they are battling together,but are very much alone at the same time.

Oh my God. Angels in America has been one of my favorite plays for a very long time, I actually ended up writing a bit for the end of it (I know that sounds ridiculous, but I always thought it came out well, and it's in my gallery if you're interested). This is so beautiful, it fits the desolate mood of the play so well. I'm glad this got a DD
