Description HOOOOOOLY crap hi. Uh. I'm drawing stuff, I swear. I just felt like spending a good chunk of my day doing this thing instead, I guess. It's HARD. But it makes you think and it's a good thing to have mapped out, sooo yeah. These aren't really in any sort of order, except that the topmost section are my biggest style influences, the middle-y part are early influences, annnd the bottom two rows are sort of a free-for-all. Sooo...now to break this thing down. Oh gosh.

1.) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
This game...I have no words. I would be an ENTIRELY different person right now if it hadn't been for this game. I literally spent years just riding around on Epona and looking at everything and doing minigames and stuff before I worked up the courage to actually beat it, ahahah. I used to do all kinds of crappy fanart (and the occasional fanfic! ..Let's not talk about those days) for this game. I even made my own little pop-up book type of shop thing inspired by OoT. If you've ever wondered why I keep saying Nintendo owns my soul, look no further.

2.) Nobuteru Yuuki
I LOVE the way this man draws faces. They're all so distinct and detailed. I even love the exaggerated noses! They are delicious.

3.) Atsuko Nakajima
I love her characters' bright, expressive eyes and the way she draws doodz.

4.) `Saimain
I've been trying to draw like her since I was like...thirteen, okay. Been watchin' her stuff in various places since waaay back in '03 or so.

5.) Books!
I've been reading about as long as I've been drawing. There's bound to be some mingling somewhere along the line.

6.) Crayola
Okay, this one's kind of cheating. This is sort of a makeshift representative of traditional art as a whole. Seeing how other people do it has had a huge impact on the way I work.

7.) Disney
The Lion King was MY SOUL when I was little. Love this movie SO much and I still remember having a VERY distinct mental image of what would've been a really awesome fanart when leaving the theater one of the 367869843 times I saw it. Too bad I was only like, three at the time and sucked at drawing. P: Anyway, there is so much I love about Disney art. Expressions, movement, scenery, just..guh. So much love.

8.) ~kittybirdie /Crystle
One of my best friends for many years now, who also helped open my eyes a lot, artistically. I probably never would've worked up the courage to start doing fanart if it weren't for her.

9.) MY BESTEST FRIEND AMITY/~Lysteria
Her whole EXISTENCE has influenced me. Art-wise I don't know what I would be doing right now if we had never met. Plotting things with our characters is one of the highlights of my LIFE. We've hashed out so many crazy ideas together over the years, I don't even know where to begin. ILU!

10.) Pokémon!
Man, who HASN'T been influenced by this? I used to draw all kinds of horrible Pokemon fanart back in the day. I would draw Eevee and Seel CONSTANTLY. To this day I still haven't gotten the hang of drawing Pikachu, though. :T Now I'm finally starting to get the hang of drawing all these dudes, though! Yay me!

11.) Jurassic Park
Another suuuuuuuuper-early influence that really should've been earlier in this list! Dinosaurs were my LIFE when I was just a lil' 'Goo. I drew them constantly, too. I wasn't any good at it but that didn't stop me. :'D I was the biggest dinosaur nerd when I was around four-ish. I still have both of my dinosaur encyclopedias. YOU CAN TELL BY LOOKING THEY HAVE BEEN VERY LOVED.

12.) Any and all sorts of fantasy art
This, specifically, is from Windstone Editions. I had the BIGGEST crush on their figurines when I was little. I wanted one sooooo bad but my family was way too broke to spend that much on something like that. I was so bummed when the store in the mall here that had them disappeared. ANYWAY! Fantasy art has been in my blood for as long as I can remember. I was always drawing unicorns and centaurs and dragons and mermaids and ALL kinds of crazy stuff. Had an art teacher in middle school who tried to get me to get rid of it completely. Didn't like that so much.

13.) Spyro
Aaah, another thing I grew up on but took me much longer to learn to appreciate it. I think Spyro is probably a big part of why I don't like super-realistic things in fantasy video games. Might also have had an impact on the fact that now I prefer bright, happy colors when it comes to environments and things like that. And yet another fandom I used to draw horrible, embarassing things for. I made two dragon OCs, one of which had PIANO KEYS for spikes. I am not even joking. I also blame Spyro for my big annoying crush on bipedal dragons.

14.) GAY THINGS
Hahahaaah. This picture specifically is what made me think, 'Hmm, maybe this isn't so bad..' So you can blame and/or thank this picture for my startling open-mindedness. Now I'm not one of those crazy annoying slash fans, so don't run away just yet. And I don't draw porn, either. I prefer my fluff, thank you very much.

15.) `hibbary
Basically I want to draw everything like she does. I've picked up some tips for creature-drawinz from watching her stuff over the years.

16. & 16.b) Concept art, specifically environment painting
First off: These are both by my sensei, Brittain Scott! [link] Working with him and the rest of the Red Dust Studios crew was undoubtedly the best thing to ever happen to me, and I learned SO much while I was there.

17.) COLOR!
Fuckin' love it. (as if you couldn't tell by how blinding everything I draw is.) This one...should be pretty obvious!

18.) Nature
I know you can't tell by how much I draw characters floating in white space, but..I do like it! It's also something I've been meaning to start incorporating into my pictures more, so..yeah.

19.) `lone-momo
I had an intense moment of "OMG I WANNA DRAW LIKE HER" when I first stumbled upon her work. Then she started improving drastically and suddenly she's godly now. WTF.

20.) Fashion
And boy is it a good thing I got into it, you'd cringe at some of the things I used to draw my characters in.

21.) ~chira-chira
I learned facial structure from her, lolol. I love the way she draws all flowy and I LOVE the gestures and poses she draws characters in. So expressive and hnnnngh.

22.) Painterly digital art styles and the people who rock them
This particular example is from *MeisterC . It took me a looong time to finally dip my toes into the vast pool that is digital art. That and an extremely sudden love of painterly styles is proving to be a step in the right direction.

Now, there are a loooooooot more things I could've put on this thing, but there is no way I can be expected to remember everything that influences me all at once. A lot of it is little subtle things that I might not even notice. But I figured this is a good enough spread, so...yeah. I'M GONNA BE DONE NOW PLZ KTHNX.
