BIG ASS FILE RIGHT HERE!AND NOTE: In the manga and anime, Mello's scar DOES NOT travel like a crazy thingy down to his shoulder, HOWEVER A LOT of people put the scar going down that far, so we did that version of the scar because it looks more...it looks more like a big ass scar. So yes. you don't need to do the shoulder part, but we did. So yeah. It's really up to you!
HEY GUYS!
So, after I put up my pictures of the Mello scar makeup I applied on myself, ~Plush-Mello asked me how to do it, and I thought "Hey...I'll make a tutorial!"
And here it is!
AS A NOTE: This makeup tutorial does NOT include using liquid latex, which I know some people use when they are applying the scar makeup for Mello. I used makeup exclusively, and my Mello (~BloodyHell13 ) got asked all night if the scar was real.
So.
This method makes it look real and gets the point across just fine.
As a bonus, I threw in a few pictures of us all Matt-and-Mello-ed out. X3
I hope it helps...I tried to put as much info in there as I could in the simplest way possible.

Yeah, everyone kind of does him differently. In terms of canon, I think it's just face and a little on the neck (not that you ever really see his neck during that arc, but whatever lol), but in terms of physics, I say it should go down the arm and a little on the shoulder/chest/back area. Or maybe I just think the scar is sexy and want more of it (which is terrible since it caused the poor boy pain

Great tutorial! But I have a question! My skin is darker than your friends so I was wondering if I should go darker or lighter on a colour powder or something? I tried a different Mello scar tutorial before and the blush wouldn't show up as well because I have very tan skin :\ Do you know if I should use a different shade or would this work for me as well? (The brown concealer may not show up nor will this brown eyeshadow I dont think xD)

What I would suggest doing is either going lighter on that part of your face where you want to put the scar. But the problem with that is that then there will be lots of makeup stacked up on top of concealer and it might get...there is a word I'm looking for, but I'm going to have to go with slippery.
My actual suggestion is that you start out darker. So get concealer and eyeshadow that will show up on your skin. As for the red bits to make it look like a burn, I say either go with a darker red eye shadow, or you could even use lipstick (I've seen it done but haven't tried it out myself). If you do that, just apply it in the same way as the concealer (little lines/dots/etc), and just LIGHTLY smudge the edges.
I hope that helps...I'd love to see pictures of how it turns out! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! I'll go check with a few friends on what they might suggest, but I think going darker would be a good idea.

I did once a Mello cosplay in school ok I thought to to the scar but as tired as I was at 5am it turned out to look like a newly done burnmark but oh well it worked too since like everyone asked me if it was real >__> just to do it a little lighter later they though it start becoming a scar ^-^

Totally send me pictures! It's fun to do it anyway~! My Mello wig is actually really weird..I can go back and forth between super cute bob-cut Mello and ka-boom Mello with the same wig. I just run product through the layers and pull them out and it totally looks like post-explosion. Very weird, but I love it. x3

Is the scar you'd like to do caused by something specific? Like...a knife, bullet, deranged hobo...?

Lol. Well the scar I was wanting to do was Saix's scar from Kingdom Hearts, so it's an X-shaped scar that looks almost like it was caused by a knife, from the screenshots I can find of it.
