"It's the kind of thing I like to do," replied Kohaku. "If you hadn't guessed by now, I have some interesting talents."

Fuming, Hiro took a step toward her. "Who are you? What do you want from me?"

"I've told you both already," said Kohaku innocently. "I'm Kohaku, and I want you to join my club. Together, we can get to the bottom of things around here."

"Bottom of WHAT things?" Hiro took another stride, closing the distance between them. He knew he was taking a big risk, but he hoped that maybe he could intimidate her, just to get that phone to appear so he could grab it and smash it. "Why me?" he asked, glaring. "Why am I so important?"

Suddenly Kohaku was next to him, putting a reassuring arm around his shoulders. "Because you're on the verge of seeing how truly strange this school is. You're in the middle of it."
