Meet Daviron

Daviron is a Pokémon Researcher and Gym Leader from the future. He also leads an Elite Squadron of Trainers from his city to protect the region from major threats. You meet him shortly after defeating the first Gym when he is analyzing the area with a book in hand. He seems distressed and confused, when you go up to him. He asks questions trying to get an answer of where he is, but confusion arises when you tell him because it seems too different from what he is saying it should look like. Suddenly, the regional professor comes up to you, and after some pleasant conversation, he says that he will help Daviron out to find where to go.

You next come across Daviron again after completing a couple of more Gyms. He says that the Professor has helped to fill in the blanks. He informs you that he is from the distant future which he corroborated with various sources with the professor. He gives you a more formal introduction of who he is and what he does from his time. He, as a Gym Leader, asks if he can watch your upcoming Gym battle. After watching with baited breath, he asks if he can battle with you.

GYM LEADER DAVIRON
Falinks - Bulk Up, Reversal, Headbutt, Rock Smash
Buzzwole - Power-Up Punch, Bulk Up, Reversal, Fell Stinger

After his battle with you, he declares his goal to get back to the future. He will work hard to complete this goal, and he insinuates something about helping you with your destiny. Yet, he remains vague about what your destiny is. You will come across him a few more times completing research and learning more about the current time. Near the climax of the story, he is with you as you go to battle the evil team. He wants to protect you with everything he has. He predicts the coming of the legendary Pokémon who defeats the other members except the leader which you will have to battle. In the meantime, Daviron works on assuaging the legendary Pokemon's wrath, and by the time you defeat the boss, it has calmed down. Daviron informs you of where you can go next if you desire to catch it.

After defeating the Elite Four and becoming Champion, Daviron expresses that he is thankful to have been able to help you save the region. Stories of heroes like you are what inspired him as a child to create teams to protect regions from major threats. As a Gym Leader and Leader of the Elite Squadron, he wants to go all out against you using his true team. He asks you for another battle, but before it can happen, you two see a portal open to the future with a great might that sucks you two in. You two look around, and Daviron states that he's back implying that you two are in the future. He says that he empathetically states that he understands the fear of being in the wrong time, so he will help you. Daviron shows you around his town and introduces you to his team who he commands them to see what they can figure out on how to get you back to your time. In the meantime, he invites you to the Gym for the battle he previously asked you for.

When the battle concludes, he questions why either of you were brought to each other's time periods and how to get you back. His research and knowledge of lore states that they should find Celebi which he has sent a team to go out to look for as well. But, other teams are seeking alternate explanations in the meantime. Daviron states that perhaps he was sent to help you with the evil team, but he questions why you have been sent here. You go out of the Gym, and suddenly, you see people running away from a dangerous Pokemon. Much of Daviron's team is down. It is up to you two to save the city from this new high-level threat. Some stronger members of Daviron's team is around to save citizens and guide them to a safehouse. Others are battling to protect the city. You and Daviron battle through many of these dangerous figures until you reach... the antagonist you guys faced in the past. He says that he was sent to this time period and has been plotting for years on how to take it over. When he got you out of the way, he thought he could handle it - especially when you got sent to his original time, but he did not expect to see you guys back in this time period. It's up to you guys to defeat a more powerful antagonist. Upon defeating him and capturing him, Celebi appears and glows before forming into a ball shape which becomes a Pokeball. Daviron gives the Pokeball to you because he feels that that is what was intended.

You can use Celebi now to travel between this time and your original timeline. Daviron doesn't do a bittersweet farewell because he knows that he will be able to see you whenever you come back to this time, and with that, you two go your separate ways. You are able to go back to battle Daviron in his Gym at least once a day, and furthermore, you can battle him and other future characters (some who may end up being descendants of current characters) in a world torunament.

TRIVIA
- Iron Leaves' inclusion is to signify that Virizion is a Fighting Type, despite Iron Leaves not being one.
-- It is also a callback to that I was going to make him a Psychic type trainer - that happens to use an Iron Valiant as a callback to its source materials of Gardevoir and Gallade.
