Description

let's be honest, there are some valid complaints about the crew.

It doesn't excuse what T'Shoak did, but the case against her isn't as airtight as they want.

Next time, the verdict...

1 Judge 1: Thank you for your several hours of testimony. It has proven most enlightening.

Judge 2: Yes. A systemic dedication to carrying out a personal vendetta while manipulating those under her.

T'Shoak: Objection. That is hyperbolic phrasing by someone with a personal interest

Ford: Are you accusing me of letting my emotions cloud my judgment? Have you heard the old human saying about the pot and the kettle?

Judge 1: Order.

Judge 3: Admiral, if it is not a systemic plan on your part, then how would you describe it?

T'Shoak: An attempt to correct a mistake.

Judge 2: And what mistake is that?

2 T'Shoak: That Captain Heath should never have been granted command

Judge 2: Are you implying that Starfleet is broken and has poor judgement in its decision making?

Ford: Actually, I have to agree with her

Judge 3: You do Captain Ford?

Ford: Yes. Only a broken system would allow someone so petty to reach a position of authority then turn their backs and ignore their actions as they persecuted a fellow officer.

Judge 2: Starfleet is not on trial here Captain

Ford: Perhaps it should be

3 T'Shoak: You are to keep your remarks relevant to the matter at hand.

Ford: Name one thing I've said that hasn't been relative.

T’Shoak: ...

Ford: I'm waiting.

Judge 1: Order.

Ford: Then allow me to ask why you wrote the order for the captain and her crew to have to wear those boots? No other crew is required to wear them. Why only them?

T'Shoak: That was to help their EMH to acclimate to its new body and surrounding

Ford: A body that you had them alter in to a female form

T'Shoak: Given the gender makeup of the crew it was determined they would respond better to a doctor that matched their own gender

4 Ford: That you can say that with a straight face amazes me

T'Shoak: That is a borderline speciest remark Captain

Ford: That was not my intention. That fact that you actually believe what you are saying...

T'Shoak: Why would I not? It is the logical conclusion.

Ford: Didn't admiral Janeway write in her memoir about how logic can be used to justify anything?

T'Shoak: Another speciest remark Captain?

Judge 1: Order.

Judge 2: Does the defense wish to question the witness further?

Dserrkcim: No, we are done. Her witness

T'Shoak: Thank you. Captain Ford what is the current condition of your ship?

Dserrkcim: Objection. How is this relevant?

T'Shoak: If you permit me, it shall become relevant

Judge 2: Overruled continued

Judge 3: Please answer the question Captain

Ford: In the repair dock

T'Shoak: Why is that?

Ford: For damage inspection

T'Shoak: What type of damage?

Ford: A scratch on the hull

T'Shoak: And what caused that damage?

Ford: It happened when the Los Lobos flew passed us.

T'Shoak: It was close enough that it scratched your hull

Ford: Yes

T'Shoak: Physical contact at warp speed could have destroyed both ships. Is that not correct?

Ford: Yes

T'Shoak: And yet they did that not once, but twice. Correct?

Ford: Yes

T'Shoak: So, in your opinion, should someone who would give such an order be in command of a starship?

Ford: ...

6 R’Shee: Oh, that evil…

Tru: I can’t even say what he’s thinking about her in public.

7 T'Shoak: I am waiting for your answer Captain Ford

Ford: I...

Aunlel: She didn't order that.

Judge 1: Order.

8 Aunlel: She told me to distract them, so I did

T'Shoak: I see. And how often do you "interpret" your orders as you see fit?

Aunlel: I...

T'Shoak: You admit that she has no real control over her crew?

Aunlel: That's not what I said!

T'Shoak: For all you talk of loyalty, how often do you all ignore her and do what you want?

Aunlel: ...

T'Shoak: Thank you for proving my point. No further questions.

Judge 3: Witnesses may step down

Aunlel: I think I did more harm than good

Paris: No, really?

9 Judge 2: Anything else you wish to add?

Dserrkcim: Yes, your honors. I would like to call one final witness.

Judge 3: Proceed.

Dserrkcim: I call captain Augustine McBrocken to the stand.

10 Dserrkcim: One question Captain, why did you fire on the Lexington?

McBrocken:  Simple. They were a threat to every ship there and needed to be neutralized.

Dserrkcim: Please explain that conclusion.

McBrocken:  Despite the protests of those gathered there, for reasons of their own They still fired upon a defenseless barely functional ship. None of the other ships had their shields up. If they had wanted to, they could have fired upon and damaged or destroyed any of the others. As the only ship with weapons ready, it fell to us to protect the others.

11 T'Shoak: A completely false claim. We had no intention us firing on any other ship

McBrocken:  And how were we supposed to know that? Take the word of an openly hostile vessel?

T'Shoak: We acted to stop an infected ship from reaching a Federation world

McBrocken:  And if any of the other ships had been infected, would you have fired on them?

T'Shoak: That would...

McBrocken:  You heard that the Constellation came in physical contact with the Los Lobos. They might have become infected. Would you have fired on them?

T'Shoak: They would have had to be stopped

McBrocken:  That's not what I asked

12 T'Shoak: I am not on trial here

McBrocken:  Yes, you are. And stop avoiding the question

T'Shoak: Firing on them would not be necessary

McBrocken:  Why

T'Shoak: They remained in control of their ship

McBrocken:  As was the Los Lobos

T'Shoak: That could not be verified

McBrocken:  I personally verified that fact and everyone gathered there heard me do it. You simply didn't want her to get to Vulcan before you

T'Shoak: Objection! Supposition...

McBrocken:  Oh piss off you lying sack of...

Judge 1: Order!

13 McBrocken:  Fine, then let me ask you a final question, Admiral. Under oath, have you distorted or exaggerated any of the claims you have made against captain Heath?

T'Shoak: No.

Dserrkcim: On that your honors, the defense rests
