Description
This was my first time drawing a horse and I'm well aware she looks like a diseased mule. This is why I tend to stay away from Epona-related things......anywho, yes. Another true story.
Since you're invincible while riding Epona, (a prospect soon to change in the new Zelda05, glee!) I decided it would be nifty-keen to trample the cuccos and not be trampled back. So I proceded to trample them. It was amusing. They swarmed around me, but could not kill me. It was a good thing. But then I got pretty bored...so I waited for them to chill and stop maiming Epona's legs, but...they didn't stop. I stood there for like five minutes and they just kept coming. Eventually I had to dismount and try to make it out of the ranch (being an idiot and forgetting I could leave while still riding Epona; d'oh!) but got killed halfway there.
So...yeah. I stay far away from the cuccos now.

some of it depends on quick reflexes in the split second between when the cucco appears on screen and when it lands in the back of your head

Link can defeat the great king of evil, but is powerless against those damn chickens! I never understood this, he can actually DIE from chicken attack!? The first time this happened to me I was like
"What the HELL?! Why is this even necessary!?!?"
My mom then got mad at me for yelling.
But I can just imagine the programers sitting down at the confrence table,
"Ok...we should have these chickens but we won't call them chickens that would be too norma so well call them cocos. Yeah thats a good idea. And when Link attacks them 3 times they unite and go into a vicious frenzy, he should lose maaaaaaybeee??

random comment: I was quite disturbed that in TP, attacking a cucco resulted in you gaining control over it. So, what, are we saying that if you hit something long enough, it may fight back at first, but in the end you will be able to control it completely? Creepy.

I attacked the cuccos in Phantom Hourglass and they swarmed around me so i couldn't run away. and it was annoying cuz i was on my way to kill the dude in the temple thingy and i hadn't saved since i was on goron island. and they KILLED ME!!!! i spent the rest of the night crying into my pillow. then i went and killed some things in Drakengard to get rid of my stress O.o .

I'm sad that they don't do that in TP. Instead of murdering you in gangbang fashion, you end up controlling the cucco instead of Link. T_T

You know what's really interesting? In Zelda: A Link to the Past, there is a building in the town..can't recall which one..where there are some chickens. I was curious once, and decided to just keep hitting the chicken (cucco or whatever) to see if it would eventually die.
I don't recall how much time went by, but..all I remember is after some time, a whole bloody flock of cuccos swarming upon me, and there was nothing I could do. Needless to say, it was interesting..but, I didn't hit the stupid things but once from then on out. The event kinda freaked me out, as, I had not saved and I was like WTF?!!! X3

I love that! My favorite thing to do with them at the ranch is standing next to Ingo. They don't hurt him, but it's the only bit of anger management you get in that game concerning townsfolk.

i was waiting for something like that in Twilight Princess but the only thing that happens when you attack the cuccos is that you can control them for a limited time...make them jump off a building or into a lake...i wanted them to attack me...

Yeah. It's fun to mess with the Cuccos. But if you want a funny way to kill yourself in that game when you are older, you go to Kakariko village, attack a Cucco and jump in the well. xD
Epona also kills those blue spider things around Lake Hylia. [[ I forgot what they are called ]]
And If you shoot a arrow at her head she whinnies.
