Description
This is my not-so-finished Delirium piece. (Copywrited by Dark Horse/Neil Gaiman) So far this is what I've done, and what I plan on doing. Everything digital you see here - other than the black border which I didn't feel like removing - are jumbled ideas.Del will be colored with flesh tone watercolors, and shaded with dark blue acrylics.
The hair will be red with streaks of yellow and the blue and green metallic inks used for her eyes.
The spiral thing on her left arm will be kind of strange. All of what's currently black will be layered with random rainbow acrylic paints. The bottom that's safety-pinned to the rest of her shirt will have a small black splatter on it done by blowing a tiny bit of ink out of a straw. (Cool huh?)
The betta fish are going to be one of two colors - blue or green. I have a stencil I made that I'll use to cover an area and paint on either side. Then I'll put a few finger prints with metallic ink on them.
The little word things are kind of like the few cut-outs of magazines I have for the picture. I'll probably put those down last.
Near Delirium's hips I'll be drawing a couple random objects and using some paint on a bit of gauze and dabbing that around to create a nice, bold fade effect. Then of course I'll color in the objects with some paint or something. Del's shirt will have the same effect I just mentioned.
I really want to put a rorschach design at the bottom of this piece. I have a technique I have yet to try out, but if all goes well, that will go where I put have it set now.
As for the fish on the bottom, I don't know if I'm that keen on keeping them. The rorschach on its own would be very eye-catching. What do you think?
The background color will be mainly blue on the right side, green on the left.
Please leave any comments, critiques, suggestions, and everything in between here. I'm open to new ideas for this piece!

My thoughts:
I think having the two rows of fish at the bottom, while it does do nicely for the compisition, I feel it takes away A LOT of focus from Delerium. But if you kept them in, which still looks really neat, I would sujest not using too bright colors. If you use duller colors then they wont' take away from Delerium being the focus point.
I think it would be a cool effect if you colored/painted the two big fish blue and green, with one having blue on the top and gradating down to green, and the other having green on the top and gradating down to blue. That way it complements the colors of her eyes and adds some visual intrest to them.
I also like the idea of the fading effect on Delerium herself. I also really like the magazine words, they remind me of her crazy speech bubbles in the comic.
I hope this helps
