[I]The battle was fierce, destructive, and overly beautiful. It was too close to call. Mew was becoming exhausted (her Recover out of PP) and Mewtwo still holding strong, though slightly below half his health. He used Shadow Ball. Though critical, she held strong, yet dangerously weakened. His opponent began to sweat, not willing to lose to her rival.
Her next attack missed, much to her disappointment.
Mewtwo, very excited about his long-awaited victory within an attack's reach, accidentally jumped up into the air in joy. The resulting incident caused the link cable to pull out of Mew's Game Boy Advance just as he pressed the "A" button for his Psychic attack.
It was indeed too close to call. For the rest of the month, Mew and all of her friends (consisiting of almost every Legendary) teased him for his emotion. Rivals mocked him from the stands whenever he got into battle, chanting "Leap! Leap! Leap!" Others, who heard about the epic battle through rumors, were sent into shock. Nevertheless, Mewtwo's reputation had cracked. He hid himself in caves until he felt he was ready to fight again.
However, on the second fight, his battery died just as he attacked for the final blow. In rage, his telekinetic abilities crushed the delicate machine to pieces, game and all.
This year just wasn't agreeing with him this time.[/I]
