I was the one to suggest this and I have to say it again, it looks beautiful and it tears my heart to pieces, I simply love it.
Just imagine Near beyond fatigue, lying around about to fall asleep, and then he takes little Mello out of his pocket and talks nonsense to him as he begins to fall into unconsciousness and, just before he closes his eyes he asks him "Why did you have to die?".

Awwww Near........ This is so weird, I just finished drawing Mello and I was thinking how unfair it is that he died.. Well, actually he killed quite a lot of people so maybe it was fair? But I can't help but imagine what it would be like if Mello and Near teamed up and defeated Kira together. Then nobody would have to die and there would be two L's instead of just one (who also happens to be a very creepy kid while Mello is just adorable! ---> )
