He can't do it himself. This is why he decided to manipulate others to rescue Aziraphale.

He can't do it himself? Yet in the film (or even the book) he and Aziraphel agreed to switch places to save the others life.
How can he then not be strong enough to help him in the comic, if he is strong enough to change places with the angel in the film?
Heck you've shown us he can set himself on fire, so why doesn't he go down there and burn the shackles from Azirafells wings, wrist ect?
And how long can the Angel hold out before he loses his will to live?
