I always give out llamas.
I never expect any back.
I like doing trades for them.
However, I look at llamas as rewards for those who work hard on their submitions.
It's nice to see a stamp like this though.
Depending on the situation, you could even get cheated out of one.

To be honest I don't give out llama badges often. Strangers give me llamas, and when I view their profile it becomes clear that they only gave me it so that I would give them one. If someone gives me a llama for an actual reason I feel they deserve one back, but some people just give them to me to get them.

Well, that's kind of the idea of the "Llama Swap" - give one, get one... But, not everybody plays... It's not really a problem either way though it is nice to get when you give...

Why?
Unless we say "WE GIVE LLAMAS BACK!" we do not have to give them back.
YOU decided to give someone a llama, just to be nice, not because you expect them to give you one back.
It doesn't mean they have to do the same for you.
If you watch someone, they don't have to watch you.
If you fave 100 pieces of one artist, they don't have to fave 100 of yours.
If you compliment on someone's hair, they don't have to compliment yours.
And it isn't a matter of being nice or not, some people do not have the time, interest, etc, to "return the favor".

Well, like I said you're "supposed" to give one back because, to me, it's a courtesy thing... Not that I expect to get one back for every one I give, but it would be nice...
