Description
Click Download for 1920x1200Vue Infinite - Experimental render, this is another frame of an animated short i am working on.
With all the quality settings set to the absolute maximum this took a pretty humble 3.0ghz P4 with 2gb of RAM approx 97 Hours to render.

i looked at it quickly then blinked and looked again and i saw analyzing the light on the cliff and realized that it could actually be computerized, then i looked for a reflection from the camera in the water or the boat or something and then realized it actually is computer generated lol. Very nice work, it looks very fantastic, im hoping that there is some way ill get to see the short when it is a finished product. For the Starcraft2 game video they released a couple years ago each rendered frame was a few gigs big (i think) and each frame took the super computer at a california college something like 2 minutes to calculate. Incredible stuff computer art....

great effect!!
15 years ago i had an i386DX (with cooprocessor!!!), and I used 3dstudio to render a cadillac. that was 5 hours... but without water of course.

this is pretty amazing. i love the calm atmosphere
but the water looks a bit too smooth to be the ocean.

97 hours?? how the hell are you gonna render an animation on this before you die?! You might want to change those render settings mate I really like the sun though, nice atmosphere

Looks great. 97 hours is painful though. I built my PC with vue in mind, and even the 12-24 hours it would probably have taken here seems like forever. That is especially true when I'm busy with a scene and notice something wrong half-way through the render, and have to fix it and start over. e.g. my latest island one.

Very dreamy and calm, the only thing that kinda caught my eye is the surface of the water... It looks pretty plastic to me, as normally there would be little ripples upon the bigger ripples, foam etc.
But still, amazing work!

I definitely agree that the water is kindof odd looking.. mercury maybe?
Other'n that, stunningly beautiful.
