I tried to give the tree some texture instead of one plain color :z I guess that's what looks sketchy to you.
Remember that favourite movie of V's? The Count of Monte Cristo? The last part of that movie. That's where this came from.

I actually went looking for a tree book for pictures of bark but couldn't find any XD
Copic markers are indeed that expensive. And they cost even more in Sweden, it's crazy-crazy..!!
I think they cost about $1~2 each in Japan though so if you drop by there do keep your eyes open for copic shops!
