this is how i sketch out my drawings!

1.
First, I draw a circle for the head.
Usually, I'll detail it immediately afterward and depending on how much I like the head determines whether or not I'll finish the drawing.
Then I'll draw the body, it's usually hourglass-shaped and determines the size and movement.
If the head and body are disproportionate, I'll resize one to compliment the other.
Next I add the limbs, which are represented with thin lines.
The tail is added afterwards.

2.
I usually start the second sketch on another layer.
I begin by defining whichever foreleg is in the foreground, followed by the one in the back.
Next I move on to defining the tummy, which eventually leads into the back legs.
The back legs are drawn and "paw plots" are added.
The tail is also refined.
Then I go back and add minor details to the body.
I do not draw the head in the second sketch and the front paws usually don't get "paw-plots".

3.
The first few processes are repeated from the second sketch.
Fur is added.
Detail is added.
Facial structure is redrawn, ears and cheek fur added.
Paws and detail are completed.
Secondary fur is added for a "shaggier" or "fluffier" appearance based on the character.
Line-Shading is added after the final sketch is completed (only if I don't plan to black-line it.)

4. Lineart or color!
