Description
Eat chains are formed from strands of nut-like capsules that grow end-to-end. They will slowly extend outwards as far as they can before they're eaten or otherwise set back. They grow in clusters that are usually smallish and made of 3-8 chains, but can get much larger if left alone for long enough. Chains usually grow in shady areas with plenty of underbrush to hide them. They depend on nutrients from the soil rather than sunlight to grow, so they can thrive in locations that are quite dark. They taste like hazelnuts and onions and are generally eaten raw. The shells don't taste bad, so people usually eat the whole thing, as it's got a nice crunch to it. If you spot an eat chain, you can just pop some capsules off for a quick snack and be on your way (though it's advised not to uproot the whole chain. If you leave a couple capsules, the chain will later start to regrow from there instead of having to form a whole new arm). Plants don't seem to care about the season and are always growing
