For now, though, I did the requirement so I wouldn't get in trouble, lel

Kimber was making his preparations in his little place off in the woods. It should have been quiet, but the chime of a bell had him glancing down again. It'd gotten to a point that whenever someone began to approach him, he'd have to quickly remember anyone he may have done wrong in the last year. He had to anticipate what they would do to him. Reactions could range anywhere from a lecture to a fight to trying to trap him in that baby place. The Nook, they called it. This time, it hadn't been any of those. Instead, a gift had been given to him, the collar he hadn't yet unbuckled from his neck. Why would they do that...? They'd grown much bigger since he last saw them. Maybe they'd forgotten. He half wanted to take it off and bury it somewhere in the woods so that his thoughts would quiet. At the same time, it seemed impossible to let go of it. Why would...? He shook his head. There were things to do. He couldn't dwell on it any longer today.
