Description
Work for my printmaking class (i.e. I drew and then printed the skeleton onto the calico). Sorry that all the photos are all a little different in colour, they were photographed in really crappy lighting and they were difficult to edit... but I really just wanted to get this up.I am pretty happy with how this guy turned out... so much variation! eheheh!!
INTERACTIVE!!
EDIT: Wowee! A DD! Thanks a bunch!

awww, adorable I love the ears and the bow
is it hard to take off/put back on the zippy-uppy outside part?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Hannakin In reply to radtastical [2009-05-08 00:32:44 +0000 UTC]
No, it's a lot easier to take out and in than I thought it would be, fairly surprised at how well it worked... the zip can catch a little at the top, but it's not hard to get open..

this is a real cute, inspiring little creature. the bow only makes it better.
i actually wonder, how did you print the skeleton on the fabric?

It's called a spirit transfer, and it's done by getting a black and white photocopy of the image you want to transfer (it has to be an old black and white only photocopier, the pigment in the new copiers doesn't work) keeping in mind the image will flip when you transfer (so if there is any text or anything you'd want to flip that first). Put the image face down on a piece of fabric and rub eucalyptus oil on the back of the paper with a cloth in the areas you want to print, then run it through a printing press under high pressure (I suppose not everyone has one of those at their disposal..)
The print seems pretty hardy, it doesn't seem to smudge a while after printing, and I have put fabric with prints through the wash and they don't really seem to fade much.

i love the bow on his butt!
the first little plushie thing i ever make had a little duck button on his butt, and i called him duck-butt
so i'll always think of this cute little guy as bow-butt
