Description

Illustration I made back in 2019, have a folder of ideas and sketches for other gods and rituals surrounding them, hopefully ill manage to make time to explore them further in the future.

Legend has it that the settlers of the new world were the first to find the great monoliths

of Shepherds Cove, a body of water that falls into the Great Dark Sea.

And one night a deal was struck, and a promise of great knowledge was made,

a promise that turned out to be in the form of a flower.

But not any ordinary flower, a flower that would help the settlers rule the land.

At the sixth dawn after the end of the yearly storm season,

the villagers of the northern highlands

were to sacrifice a firstborn in the caverns along the water,

alongside a dozen fish, six pairs of two to be exact,

a pair from each of the six lakes inland.

And in return the highlanders were supplied with a flower,

a flower they named the Hollow Bloom.

The flowers were to be used in rituals,

allowing the villagers to enter a dreamlike state,

in which they could consort with the dead.

The dead have a way of knowing things to come,

the shamans believed this was because the veil of time was thinner on the other side.

This practice had been kept for as long as anyone could remember,

the entity they prayed to was referred to as the Hollow Prince of the Deep.
