I know some of you already have read part of this or saw my other preview of part of this chapter. But Since its the holidays and artwork has slowed down a little bit I wanted to take the time and maybe add some of my words to the story since when i'm putting this on taums.net it will be a wordless comic.

Page 1 -

This taum, the origin, is a very adventurous taum. They spend all their time exploring the many vast worlds, universes, dimensions and planes of existence. The reason being is cause they have the ability too. This place they found themselves in is in a crystal cavern where the crystals grow haphazardly inside it, the ground is wet, the soil soft and what feels like a sort've moss that gives the cave floor an oil like sheen. There were these little specks that flew and wandered the air. The same green colors as the crystal, they clung to the origin's fur but did nothing but act as dust in the air. Wandering for hours, there is not idea if there is an end or another exit to go through. That's nothing to worry about, all they have to do is follow their intuition and their nose.

There's a scent of rot, but not the kind of rot from bodies, more so from leaves and roots. Following it there is a large cavern with light shining from what would have been considered a hole in the cave..but in reality it might've been the very being that was resting there. A huge snake. Gigantic even. It was maybe sleeping, maybe awake, but it did not stir. It didn't hold any anger, nor any malice, it was simply existing as most snakes do.

The chamber had looked like it was man made or at least it had been build specifically for the snake. There was tattered and ripped old rugs and ribbons that had a faded mark that represented the snake itself. There was no other scent than the snakes though. Passing through the cave there had been no other signs of life in this location.

***Taums***
Taums are avian monsters that have two mouths; one is a beak, which can be inspired by the beak of any bird, and the other is a toothy mouth inspired by that of any beast, from bear-like fangs and boar tusks to rows of shark teeth. They have thick arms that end in bear-like claws, which can slice through the toughest of materials (e.g. dragon scales, metal, diamond). Underneath the big claws are dexterous human-like hands that can allow the taum to grasp onto objects. Their body type and structure is similar to that that of a human, including their legs and feet. They can run in a bipedal stance if preferred, but for speed they will often run on all fours.

Their purpose is very strange one: it is to find a place where they belong. Many are hermits, traveling from worlds, planes, dimensions, and space to find somewhere that is just perfect for them. At birth they will find themselves in a random place – it may or may not be the perfect place, but it’s always the beginning.

Since the way they are capable of traveling is a bit unconventional, the theory of parallel universes doesn’t work with taums. While there may be different versions of the same humans, animals, and places in different parallel universes, no such duplication can occur with taums. There is always only one of each individual taum, all across the dimensions and planes. No copies of an individual can exist.
