Aurora's the third of the Great Witches and notably younger than the other two (though still very old for a human) so I figured to just give her something unbelievably extra. The idea is more or less she feels the need to prove that she can stand among these legendary figures so she wears something so ornate it makes her look more official.

Her backstory is a lot simpler than Aurora, given that she's fairly simple herself. She never really thought of herself as being all that important so despite being one of the top three mages, she lives a relatively humble life. Rather than residing among the Council of Mages who would certainly relish her presence, Aurora lives out in the middle of the nowhere. We've already seen her home in the story and even then it was described as quaint, though it mainly serves as a school for burgeoning young witches, of which we've met a few of them but there are many more that likely will never be seen. Some students stay for years and years while others just want the experience of learning under a Great Witch, only to find her teachings fairly mundane. Aurora doesn't have any preference for her students, though she is fairly strict on them, which is why talentless Emmy remains a student while genius Helen was chased away for her incessant bullying of the other girls.

Aurora is Great Witch number three, while Nero is number one. The intermediate one will be revealed in due time but what I came up with in my head is that none of the three are the definitive strongest, so the most hint that you'll get to what she can do is that while Aurora's powers counter Nero, the second Great Witch counters Aurora but in turn loses to Nero.
