Description

It's kind of weird to think of it nowadays that Adventure Time started as this weird, random, chaotic show about a 12-year-old human and his magical talking dog going on adventures.

Without all of the development that happened throughout the years, the first four seasons of Adventure Time could feel like watching an entirely different show. While I do think that there's still a ton of value within the show's early years, I still highly prefer the show's last few years. For me, Season 1 Adventure Time is the first part of the first era of the show, the childhood era. The period of the show that does not care about lore and development at all and focuses on the wild, wacky adventures that it can offer with its setting.

As for the season itself, it feels like the first season of a show alright. It is a solid first glimpse of the land of Ooo but it is also inconsistent. The season is mostly filled with standards that could be ranked by their level of creativity. The more creative the episode is, the more enjoyable it will be. The less creative it is, the less engaging it will be.  It's a season that offers episodes that vary in quality, making it a solid first impression to the Land of Ooo.
