Description
Can you hear the clapping of her hands, as her student goes through the exercises. ย I can almost hear the one, two, three, fours of the teacher as she instructs.Part of my series in the ballet class as they get ready for the recital.
Taken in the mid 1960s, with my Exakta VX IIa, with 58mm F2.0 Zeiss Biotar, on Kodak Tri-X 135mm panchromatic film.

I think this is my favourite of the ballet series - I love the contrast between the light costume of the student, and the darker outfit of the instructor. Nice sense of stillness and of movement too.

My instructor was far less matronly in appearance. I do miss the dancing, of course, I also miss my knees and ankles working properly. Between ballet and fencing it's a wonder the equipment works at all. I guess I need some WD-40.

Cool! Every holiday, part of my gift was to see Swan Lake or The Nutcracker in Lincoln Center. It's grueling work in tough industry!
