Things have certainly changed since last we talked, ladies and gentlemen. I have left Presidio and gave chase to the oil rush in Midland, TX. Mind you, I'm not swol enough to take up an oil field job, but because of the mass migration of workers into the area, which has temporarily increased the population, the city is hurting for employees in virtually every level of business imaginable. You can't go 20 feet without seeing the words "now hiring" printed on a window or billboard somewhere. As you can imagine, this was the perfect opportunity to snag a part-time gig. Cinergy Cinemas has accepted my application as a concessions team member (always wanted to work in a theater, eeeee!); I've been working for them for about two weeks now. Now this Cinergy thing... it's much more than just your average theater. It is an amalgamation of all things entertainment. Motion rides, bowling, billiards, laser tag, arcades, obstacle courses, and even a bar. It doubles as a dine-in restaurant, where you can have food served to you during your movie. This place has kinda gone all out and I am quite pleased to help run such an extraordinary establishment.
My plan for years has been to do something like this: score a part-time job meant to help make ends meet and keep me grounded while I focus on artwork. And so, I have one part of my plan in motion! All I need to do is work out a consistent schedule, because I ain't a spring chicken anymore, and moving my sleep schedule around in order to keep up with ever-changing shift is incredibly exhausting, to put it bluntly. But, once I am able to request a stable shift, I'll have the time and stamina to start working on commissions, as well as that webcomic I so desperately need to create.
Long story short - I moved again, I got a job, and I'm settling in as fast as I can so art can be a part of my daily life again. I'll be back to my usual antics once things have settled down. I have been drawing on the daily all things considered. Granted, they are mostly sketches, but I'd be happy to share them with you guys if you're interested. Once I've spruced them up, I'll get to posting.
I'm sure he's going to see Christopher Robin. :]
Thank you for checking in on me. I hope I can catch up with everybody soon!

I've been away from DA for quite a while, but welcome to Texas! The weather's crazy now but you get used to it.
Congrats on the job - I'm in a similar situation (shift work is super exhausting), but I was so glad to get it, since it came just when I needed it. I'm glad to see you happy to get things done. It's been a while since you posted this, so I hope things have settled a bit for ya. (Also this place sounds great!)
If you're still working on your webcomic - good luck! Boy, would I be excited to read it.
(Look at me, dropping in like we're old friends! Just an old follower who's rooting for ya!)

Glad the move worked out okay and you've snagged a job! Hope you get some stable shifts soon. Those rotating shifts can be murder when you swing back and forth between day and night hours.

I'm so glad to see this and that you have a job you enjoy, at a place that you like.
Was getting a wee bit worried, TBH.
I used to work at a movie theater myself; this place sounds a little different from where I was, being so much larger and containing so many other activities. I've worked the shifts and they can change quite a bit; sometimes they stabilize for a few weeks or even months, depending on the need, but I should advise you to be prepared to be adaptable.
Also, I was an usher. It might be different for you.
Is Bloodlines the new version of the Vampire games?

So glad to hear from ya! Seems like an absolutely awesome time - I think movie theaters are always a blast, but an all out entertainment center? Sounds like exactly how Texas would handle entertainment, haha! I haven't played laser tag since college, ho boy; and keeping a consistent sleep schedule is always a challenge with new jobs. My best wishes towards securing a stable shift. It works wonders to have a set schedule and plan accordingly - when I was younger I always resisted the idea of a good schedule because it felt "confining", but everything at random is exhausting. How are you liking VtM: Bloodlines? I attempted to start that game years ago, had a hilarious time failing to seduce anyone and I hadn't gone back since. -chuckles-
Also, if you feel up to it, definitely post sketches! I, and many other fine folks here would be happy to see them.
