full name spire runestone, spire was the prince of the runestone tribe, with his elder littermate sister selene runestone being the successor to the throne. this wasn't an easy seat to have, however - the runestones lived in the snowy peaks and were forced to endure bitter winters and scathing winds. Their typical short-length pelts didn't help with this either.

The runestones once lived in better climates, a lush forest where prey thrived. but then the clan cats came - nothing more than a ragtag band of wandering cats forced out from their territory by other clans. the runestones took them in, of course. but the numbers of clan cats soon grew, and, declaring the ancient tribe's ways as barbaric and thus inferior to them, the clans forced the runestones out into the mountains, where they remained ever since. though much diminished, the tribe managed to survive.

until, that is, the avalanche.

spire and selene, barely four months old at the time, had snuck out to play. it was that which saved them from the snowslide that buried their entire tribe.

lost and without direction, the two kits decided to make for clan territory in hopes that they may find refuge or at least food there. the journey took two months, and by the end of it, both were as starved as can be. during their first hunt, however, they were caught by a patrol, and selene died to give her brother time to escape.

spire, now eight months old, is the leader of a small gang of young unparented cats - orphaned loners, stray apprentices, and abandoned kits - who work as a team to steal food from the clans in order to survive. spire is still bitter towards the clan cats, but as he sees it, revenge is pointless, and it's better to help those he can.

he also has psychopathic tendencies but we don't talk about that <3
