My tongue is made of silver,
a pure double edged sword.
Ready to spit the truth when needed.
I see the world and it's filled lies,
spreading around and festering like flies,
it buries the truth that it eventually dies.
And now the lies become the truth.
Ain't that a bitch?
Then again it's life,
people can't handle the truth.
So that's why we lie,
we use them to comfort those we care for,
or just because we can.
I wonder if world is built on lives?
I already know many lives are,
let's not forget relationships,
hell lets add in trust.
I was lied to about who my dad was,
was told the truth when I was 11.
But I wasn't mad at all,
nor did I cry.
Only a handful can bare the truth,
the rest refuse to hear it.
It's funny really, contradiction actually.
You want to hear the sweet lie than a bitter truth,
well I got some bad news for you.
The truth is always a hard pill to swallow.
That's just the way it's been,
it's life for ya, you're honest or you sin.
I always do my best to uphold the truth.
