Description
I think that mindset is complete and utter bullshit. In the end, who's not going to Hell? You're supposed to be nice and kind, like they told you to be, right? Not spiteful little bitches that say everyone is going to hell for not thinking like you. Hell doesn't even exist and if it does, then I'd rather hang out with Lucifer than god.
What else should I add to this, guys?
EDIT: People who can't read: nowhere did I state this came from the Bible and nowhere did I state that all religious people think this way. You silly, illiterate people. c:

well, it makes me wonder. i used to appreciate dA as the site where stupid political/religious discussions don't occur as often as on most sites. but recently it has been changing gradually.

Where is my ticket?

Viewing your edit I surely understand why certain (more or less religious) people don't like this stamp since it's pretty black-humored (what I personally like xD) - it can actually refer to a lot of religions or general opinions of people outside of a religion.
A Religion is kind of only a group of people who share the same basic thoughts, opinion and belief in something - that does not even need to be a higher spirit - it can even be an object (<--- but that again would be something to got to hell for again I think lol)
I think it's not so much about iliteration that people complain about the stamp discrediting a certain religion it's more an issue with common "knowledge" or the effect of media or even how people were brought up.
Of course you didn't state anywhere that you lump together all religious people from this and I can also agree that nothing of this literally comes from the bible but yeah. We both know that some of those statements are derived from what some religions see as deadly sins
AND HELL I LOVE IT - Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere

"nowhere did I state this came from the Bible" - the fun thing is all of this *does* come from the Bible. There's specific verses condemning each and every one of these things. The great thing for tolerant Christians is the bible and 2000 years of theology combine to make something so riddled with contradictions that you can easily believe that people who do these things might not go to hell, despite the obvious condemnation from god of each of these actions.
This is why you dont let the bible decide your ethics for you.

Exactly, anyone who says things like this should be told what the bible really is, for example; the loving of someone of the same gender, someone at school was stating how wrong it is and other things about the bible, and I walked up to him and told him "Just so you know, the bible is man's interpretation of god, not his actual word."
I'm not that religious, in fact, the closest thing you could consider me would be Ignostic, (although now that I typed it id doesnt seem that relevant to these next words...) and I know things about his religion that he didn't even know; I say that if you are going to believe in a religion and are so strongly connected to it; follow all their customs and rules. Then at least know where your scriptures came from.

Leichenengel In reply to SilentMyst [2012-03-28 12:02:13 +0000 UTC]
Actually to be Agnostic means you don't "believe" in anything until existance is proven ^^ I'm agnostic myself xD

SilentMyst In reply to Leichenengel [2012-03-28 12:55:32 +0000 UTC]
Oh, i thought it was spelled 'Ignostic' pfft. Fail on my part lol And I know what it is, we don't deny that there may be a god, but we don't exactly believe until we have proof. As I said, that is as close as you can get me to being a certain religion XD

Leichenengel In reply to SilentMyst [2012-03-28 15:45:48 +0000 UTC]
Ah lol ok so I kind of misunderstood since Agnosticism isn't a religion is more a philosophy of life/world-view ^^ Maybe that is why I found your comment to be a bit confusing - but now that you cleared that I see what you mean and can only say "Amen"

Sandahl In reply to ashflura [2012-03-28 12:16:30 +0000 UTC]
I think a lot of it is people tired of being told that they are going to hell for whatever lame ass reason. People are also seeing the hypocrisy in some of these religions and are fed up with it. Therefore they respond with sarcasm and satire.
People in general don't like being told that their beliefs are wrong simply because "my god said so."
I personally don't care what anyone's beliefs are. I am of the opinion that a person has the ability to choose for themselves what they feel is right for them. I take offense when someone comes along and tries to tell me that "I'm going to hell" or "animals have no souls"(which is a challenge to my beliefs) because their "God" says so. I take even greater offense when some of these people try to convert me.
Which reminds me, I need to make a note to post "Will not accept any postmortem conversions" on my tombstone.
As a final note, try not to take some of the comments too personally. Just realize that some of the people posting are genuinely fed up with people who bust their nuts for not believing in whatever. Others are probably trolls.

The thing is, this stamp is doing more harm than good. I'm a firm believer in God as a Muslim...no matter how much I'm trying to see through this...it's really difficult when this stamp literally treads on a whole religion, even when I'm not of the Christian faith.

Sandahl In reply to ashflura [2012-03-29 01:56:41 +0000 UTC]
It's not reading on the religion it's self. It's more of a satirical retort to the vocal minority that make it their business to put others down. I'm sorry that you feel uncomfortable with the stamp. I'm not saying that it's wrong to feel uncomfortable, as you have every right to if you do. I'm just letting you know why such a stamp would exist, and that it's not necessarily directed at the "whole" religion.
Many of the people know that there are good, decent, and honorable people of faith. Regardless if said faith is Christianity, or Islam, or Hindu, etc. I am certain that there are people who cannot separate a person from faith. Just as there are people on the other side of the coin whom the stamp is directed at.
*Hug* I hope this helps put some perspective on the stamp's intention. Another way of putting it would be that what you're experiencing is somewhat similar to how we feel when religion is imposed upon us. The scenarios are obviously different, but the feeling of discomfort is similar. I can tell you from experience that I am incredibly suspicious of Christians, who vocally profess their faith. A lot of it has to do with that people from various denominations have been trying to convert me, pretty much my entire life. I don't feel this way about all of them though because I know that the individual doesn't define the group.

At least I'm discussing this with someone level headed, because in the end I guess it comes down to a person's heart for whatever they believe in. Just as long as they act humanely about things and aren't starting another world war then things shouldn't be taken as seriously.
