Description And the last one of my color-coded portrait series, featuring my original characters from my story "Eternal".

Astarte Blake Gaspard was born in Lyon to a French father and an Iraqui mother. Her grandfather was an Iraqui archaeologist and part of an important expedition led in search of relics of Aeterna, a race of interdimensional beings. In honour of his strong interest into old Near-East and Mesopotamian mythology and lore Astarte was given the name of an ancient semitic goddess.

Her father used to be the leader of an underworld imperium until he decided to switch sides and began working for the secret service of Britannia. He eventually climbed up the career ladder and became the Chief of Intelligence Service. This in addition of having strong ties to "the Party" gave him and his family a very comfortable life. Astarte grew up sheltered, always surrounded by bodyguards and security. Her father's involvement in some scandalous practices, such as the espionage and detainment of innoccent civillians and torture of political prisoners and targets was the reason why there was always the looming threat of being kidnapped and attacked for retaliation. Because she knew nothing better (and had no real goals or ambitions in her life) Astarte first tried to follow her father's footsteps, beginning a career at the secret service. But very quickly her job changed from merely keeping her country safe to targeting political enemies. After a botched mission in foreign territory that ended the lives of several innoccent bystanders she decided to leave that job behind and she and her mother parted ways from her father.

She fell into a deep depression after the sudden deat of her mother due to an illness and started to drink and live risky, always on the brink of self-destruction, wandering around the criminal underground and engaging in illegal fights. After turning down a bribe by a gang to not win a certain fight she was attacked by said group - Nikolai happened to be there and saved her ass. That's how they both became best friends forever (and really only that, men and women can be friends and not ever have to fuck each other). The incident motivated her to turn her life around - she decreased her alcohol intake and she started to look for a free position where she can still kick peoples asses, but also really help and protect the people. She was eventually accepted to work as an officer in the Epsilon organization, where she works in the department of Psionic Defence, who actively combat the misuse and illegal abuse of Psionic abilities.

Her alcoholism does flare up whenever she can't cope with a situation or during a depressive episode. In the course of her character development she gets help for it. She's temperamental and extrovert and can often appear rude and grumpy, but if you know her any better you realize she has a heart od gold and is very caring and loveable - she's basically a Tsundere, lol. Her favourite weapons and ways to teach immoral assholes a lesson is to use her psionically enhanced guns - she is quite a great shooter and many gove her the title of "raging gunslinger".

She still owes Nikolai for helping her (though he doesn't accept it, in his opinion he acted selflessly and helped her because he had to). So she joins him in his quest to find the truth about his nature and origins as a half human-eldritch being. She absolutely hates Loui at the beginning, because she doesn't trust him and sees him merely as a potenial crazy serial killer (lowlife in her eyes, though she and Loui agree both on rapists, animal torturers and abusers of children being the lowest and worst). But eventually she forms a bound with him too.
