“I have no quarrel with Brambleclaw […] My quarrel is with you, Squirrelflight […]”
Not that there is a whole lot of book time of these two sharing company together, but I like to think that they were close friends before Brambleclaw left for his journey. And that Ashfurs attraction to Squirrelflight ( especially upon seeing her returned more grown up ) as well as Brambleclaw’s new relationship with her is what contributed to them losing their friendship. I feel like it’d explain why after Ashfur had his “heart broken” by Squirrelflight that he didn’t show any ill-will towards Brambleclaw.

On another note Ashfur is off-design. Since Thistleclaw is his grandfather I wanted to add white patches to match. The tufted ears and tail come from Whitestorm! As for Brambleclaw he's more on-design looking close to Tigerstar. Though I like to draw his eyes with one amber ( to match Tigerstar ) and one yellow ( to match Goldenflower ) not that it's obvious with his eyes closed lol
