Well after getting back into the space thing following a long break... I decided after working on some Star Trek stuff, I should probably continue work on my own IP. You know, the stuff I can hopefully one day sell legally... lol. So, it's been a while since I posted anything on this ship, but after a few hours of playing around with her, I think I've made some progress. Re-introducing the U.S.S. Avenger BB-1. This was the first ship I ever designed for my little universe. Good god, that was in 1999. She has also been one of the hardest to build. She's still very much WIP, but I think I have the base hull where I want it for now. Time to move onto detailing.

For some context, I'd recommend looking up my past posts. In-universe, the Avenger is the first space-based battleship the Terran Alliance has ever built. In most situations, cruisers and carriers were more than sufficient to handle most combat assignments. With the introduction of the Carusda battleship by the enemy, the Alliance has decided that now was the time to try something new. She comes in at nearly 1700 meters in length and a displacement close to 90 million metric tons. For comparison, the Federation Sovereign Class displaces a little over 3 million. Her designation is Battleship, but in practice, she functions much more like a much more heavily armed Battlestar. With a fighter compliment that rivals even the late-war Sirius Class Fleet Carrier (To be designed. lol) she is more than a match for her intended target. The downside? She's outnumbered 1200 to 1. So sit back and enjoy this semi-alright entry into my forever-changing and mediocre fleet. lol
