Description

My mind has been all over the place the past couple of weeks. Here's a random bit with pics from one of my main stories Star Trek: Eagle's Talon. I tried really hard on the 'Standby Nav deflector glow'. Well, not too hard, but it wasn't easy. Hopefully, it's not too bad. lol

"Captain's personal log, stardate 10154.2. It's that time. Eleven months and three days. Not the longest time this old girl has spent in dock, but definitely not her shortest stay either. Preliminary tests show that every minute of it has been worth it. To say that I'm shocked Command decided to put off her decommissioning would be an understatement. Enterprise and Farragut have already been put into mothballs with at least three other Constitutions on the chopping block. I'm told by friends in Starfleet Engineering that the Excelsiors are taking longer than anticipated to get into service. Many are failing their first and second space trials. I figure it won't be long before a full-scale investigation begins on this. It works for me in the end though. Because of this, Eagle is still in service. Sometimes I have to laugh when I call her an "old girl". Calling her old is an understatement. One month from now will be the sixty-sixth anniversary of her commissioning. Hopefully, she has a few more years in her."

"Captain, the Dock Master has cleared us for departure." Announced Lieutenant Commander Li'sara, Eagle's Chief Communications Officer. Stanton had just walked off of the starboard turbolift.

"Understood Commander." Stanton took his place in the center seat. "Helm, single up all moorings."

"Aye, sir." Replied Lieutenant Tom Jiang from the helm. "All moorings clear sir."

Stanton took a moment to look around the bridge at his crew. Some had been with him for some time. There were more than a few new faces though.

"Here goes nothing. Ahead one-quarter impulse."

"Ahead one-quarter impulse." Jiang repeated as he input the appropriate commands.
