Description

Happy Belated Star Trek Day!
So, I decided to take a night off from the ships for my own sci-fi universe. Instead, it was time to revisit the first Star Trek mesh I ever did. She's a personal design I came up with for a fanfic universe I created. I have some more angled shots if anyone would like to see them. Just let me know and I'll post them. Her hull has been plain for ages as I'm horrible at making textures. Tonight, I decided to use a plating generator addon I have for Blender to try and fix that. Well, I kinda did it. Even if I increased her the mesh's poly count be about 3 fold. lol This is the U.S.S. Eagle NCC-956 as she starts out in my AU. She launches in 2231 as the second ship in the failed Horatio Class. The Eagle is the only ship of the two to ever enter service. Horatio later being scrapped after numerous attempts to get her operational. The lessons learned from Horatio and Eagle would go on to influence certain directions taken with the later Constitution Class.

Eagle herself goes on to fight with distinction during the Four Years War between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. After the war's end Starfleet is faced with a few options for her. Decommissioning and scrapping. Refit her as she was and have her continue to serve for a while longer. Retrofit her to Constitution Class specifications and re-christen her. Command chose the third option. Late in 2250 U.S.S. Eagle launches as a new member of the Constitution Class.
