Nope, not textures. This was something that I was considering doing a while ago, but was never sure if it would work. Seeing Chris Kuhn using this method on his new Refit Constitution model got me to break down and try. So, we're looking at two different materials on the hull. I just applied them in a pattern directly on the hull mesh. Strangely enough, this is a little easier for me than regular texturing. I also don't have to worry about resolution issues. "Physical" detailing is more my style anyways, so this works. SO far, I've only got the upper saucer laid out with a base pattern as a test. I'm not sure how I'm going to proceed with the rest of the ship yet. lol
