So, a couple of years ago I built these guns for my Victory Class Battlecruiser turrets. I slapped some sexy plating on them and ran. Not paying attention to the polygon count. Each of the original guns (left) sit at around 40,000 polys. Multiply that by two guns per turret, then close to 30 turrets. That's a lot of polys in just the guns for details that won't be seen often. So, I'm redoing them with updated details, and with plated and plateless versions. So far, it's coming along well.
