I wanted to create as much distance as possible in this painting. Im pleased with the waterfalls, still need alot of practice with distant pine trees though... Made on an 18x24 canvasRelated content

really good. I like the distant pine trees, it gives a good effect. fantastic water too!

yeah, I go for distance a lot of times to, playing with layers is half the fun! arranging them together is also half the battle. you put everything in sync, and i think it all turned out great. the only suggestion i have is to get a bit more brave when you are playing with values. if things come out too light or dark you can always change em, play around, step back and look at it once in awhile.

The illusion of distance is incredibly well rendered. The pine trees don't look bad at all, but the water is especially captivating. I love the delicate reflections of the light and the excellent composition. This painting is spectacular!

I think the pine trees turned out great...for me, I turn the fan brush horizontal for the trees waaay in the distance, your's look great though.
