am i the only one who thought that the others were kinda 'meh' on the fact twilight has a brother? i'd have to see that part again, but the sense made by having no "YOU HAVE A BROTHER?!" statement threw me off

Yeah, when we first met Sweetie Belle it wasn't mentioned she was Rarity's sister until the Stare Master episode.
And I'm sure a LOT of us thought RD and Scootaloo were sisters until Lauren Faust confirmed otherwise.

whats more, if someone tried to d a fan fic about them meeting him in the first place, only errors would occur, cus of how Twilight reacted. its like trying to divide by zero. an AFTER wedding thing about the subject, plausible, but i'm sketchy on that

actually before it was establish fans thought sweetie was actually BON-BON daughter. and by your logic that would mean scootaloo related to rd cause both have need for speed yet it has been CONFIRMED that scootaloo and rd are NOT related by blood.

didn't stop them from complaning (its not whining, rarity can tell) so in the first place i still say last second, cus he only appeared in the 2 part finale, and nowhere else, therefore, entire time he was there was for character establishing moments. am i okay with character establishing? yes. but considering he only got the length of the finale to be established was saddening. hopefully though he has some appearance later in the show to help establish him more
