Thia (she declared her new name to be Antinaea on her 100th birthday, but she prefers Thia still) is a sun elf from Ilymsera, the same home city as Finny .

She and Finny were best (and only) friends back in Ilymsera, but when Finny left the city on her hundredth birthday, Thia was left behind (despite Finny's offers to bring her along).

Two hundred years after that, a human warlord turned the beautiful elven city into a pile of rubble. Thia's life was spared after she promised the warlord she would help him hunt down the other elves born in Ilymsera. When Thia was 297, she found and captured Finny, but Finny talked her into escaping together.

Thia and Finny spent the next thirty or so years together, and Thia utilized every single one of them to make sure Finny remembered how much she'd hurt Thia. She refused to call Finny by her chosen name, instead calling her by her childhood name (Faen) until Finny herself was pressured into using it again. She blamed everything bad that happened (and Finny's own feelings) on Finny and convinced her that "you love me, and trust me, so if I hurt you, I must have a reason." In short, she emotionally abused Finny for thirty years, and the two of them were 'best friends.' Finny would do anything for her. Thia couldn't say the same, but kept that to herself.

She still liked Finny. She just liked her more when she was complacent.

And then the warlord caught up to them. He got Thia in a chokehold, brandishing a knife, and tried to make a deal with Finny; upon realizing Finny didn't know where the other elves were at all, he proposed a trade, to take Finny as a hostage while Thia hunted the other elves. Thia begged Finny. Promised she'd do what he asked and get them both free.

And for the first time in thirty years, Finny didn't believe her.

Even as Thia died, she refused to acknowledge that she might have been wrong.
