Yeah? well please tell me why there are such things as "Emo" kids? you can't define your self as music. So therefor people HAVE made it into fashion. no one says they are a rap kid or a classical girl. sure there are country girls and hip-hop hipsters and stuff but what im saying is that society has made "emo" into music genre, fashion statement, and emotional states. What else would you call that picture? Scene. well there is also scene music. so can it not be classified as such? it is an emo picture. the look is emo. SO! that is why it is titled emo.

look it up. emo is a genre of music from the 1980's, its not anything new. and it is scene as the fashion. people can associate fashion and music together, but that doesn't mean that they become the same thing. a person, for instance, can dress as gangster as they want and be in a hardcore rock band, but that doesnt mean they are the same thing.
its cus of stereotypes that people have taken the 'emo' from the genre and placed it into fashion. and yes, no one can define themselves as music, such you cant call yourself emo, nor can anyone else. and, no, society didnt. people who misinterpret it do.

see you're contradicting yourself. you say people can associate fashion and music together. If someone dressed gangster. they'd say they were gangster even if they were into hardcore music. just like emo's. say they are emo. i dont need to look up a meaning of a word when i live this crap out everyday. you've narrowed down your search to one definition. Emo is music, fashion, and an emotional state. you can look that up if you want. its not misinterpreted. people have given it NEW definition. which usually happens after a while. so just go with the flow. accept it.
