Maggie and Val seemed to be on a roll, they’ve entered multiple shows and honestly felt like they had the world. Her second show, they’ve been cleaner with the jumps this time around. Only rubbing one rail this round. Maggie kept muttering about how she’s clearly able to do this, right? Maggie in reality was a nervous wreck, how could she actually be able to make a clear round? How could she even place? She wasn’t good enough for anything. She was just a nobody on a horse that acted like somebody. Val was the important one, she could do this Maggie couldn’t. Jumping at home was one thing, but somewhere else was a whole different thing. This place was beautiful and yet Maggie was lost in her self deprecating thoughts. Val was Maggie’s passion and doing things with her was the only thing Maggie truly looked forward to. This was a new eventing world full of competitive people, could she really make it out here? This is a strange new world but hey, maybe she’ll grow a competitive side. Val’s certainly got one. Val was growing hot, she wasn’t going fast enough. Val pulled against the reins trying to get control over her speed.
