I don't care if this guy was ranked last at the Japanese Pokémon general election 720, I still love all Pokémon! OwO Simisear still has an important role. First of all, the elemental monkeys themselves are partially based on the three wise monkeys (you know, the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" guys) so it makes sense for there to be three of them because of that. And in the games, they serve the important narrative role of allowing the player to get a Pokémon to gain the type advantage for the first gym since that gym always makes you fight against what type your starter is weak against, and you'd get a monkey that's super effective against the gym leader's Pokémon. And to assure the elemental monkey to still be useful as the player progresses through the game, giving each of them an evolution was also a great idea. So yeah, Simisear has a good reason to be around. OwO And furthermore, I mean, look at this guy, he doesn't look bad. I'd even say their designs are great, since everything about them fits to the element they belong too. So really, I don't understand how few people like Simisear here. xD
