I'm holding a skeleton
My arms embracing cold bone
Sharp angles against soft skin
Empty ribcage reminds of the hollow heart I own
I stare into two empty sockets
With shadows deep enough to mirror what has been
Brittle lifeless limbs rattle
As I slip further into this macabre dream
And when I try to hold you
I find that we can never be alone
Because in the confusion of the dark
You disappear, leaving me holding bone
