Description
They were all alone.  The sounds of battle seemed so far away now.  And today, finally, there would be a reckoning.

"Heh." Gryffinex chuckled.  "I see you got the cyborg treatment as well."

"I had to do something." Zachary Apook replied in a mechanical-sounding voice.  "I would never have gotten this moment otherwise."

"How's your bitch," Gryffinex inquired.  "Still wet for me?  Still thinkin of me when she's fucking you? "

"She's dead," Zac said coldly.

"Just as well.  You probably cant get it up anyway with all the damage I did to you."

"You and me," Apook said to his old foe.  "One way or another, it ends today."

"Well come on then," Gryffinex taunted.  "You gonna talk me to death or--AUUUUGH!"

Zachary Apook punched the man-beast with his cybernetic arm and launched him high into the air.  Before Gryffinex could recover, Zac had leapt up and hit him with a dropkick from his cybernetic leg.

"Hm," Gryffinex muttered.  "at least your using your bionics to your advant--AAAAGH!"

A sword went through Gryffinex's organic eye.

"GOD DAMN YOU APOOK!" he cried.

Apook said nothing, but continued his attack.  He cit at any wires he could find on Gryffinex in an attempt to slow him down.  He knew that one small mistake could possibly cost him his life.  Gryffinex had been on the defensive throughout the entire fight.  Finally, he attempted to retreat.  He flew far into the city of Inferno.  He found an abandoned building and hid himself inside.

Apook tracked him down.

"DID YOU THINK YOU COULD HIDE?!" Apook yelled.  "I WONT STOP UNTIL YOU ARE DEAD!  YOUR BRAIN WAVES ARE EASY FOR ME TO TRACK!"

Gryffinex leapt out of the darkness and lunged at Apook, who effortlessly dodged it and proceeded to cut off one of his wings with the Hairsplitter Sword.

"Aaaaagh!"  cried Gryffinex.  "Heh....but....but look where we are Apook....you remember this place?  The place where I took your whore?  The place where I broke her...and almost broke you...."

Sure enough, it was the same warehouse Gryffinex and taken Sabrina that night years ago.  Blood from the three of them still stained the floor.

"Graaaagh!"

Gryffinex slashed at Zac's cybernetic arm and ripped it off.  Zac stumbled and fell to the ground.

"You're right kid," Gryffinex said.  "It does end...for you..."

Before he could finish Apook off however he felt the world around him start to spin.  His body felt slow, as though he were up to his neck in mud and trying to walk.

"I know you're there,"  Gryffinex said.  "Don't think I don't know your reality warping abilities Madden!"

Sure enough, Star Madden, former Imperial General had arrived.

"And did you think I would let Zac fight you alone," she said.  "He's been obsessed with defeating you since Sabrina died.  He's been trying to avenge her since you first attacked her!  Her death only made his obsession grow..."

"You won't stop me Star," Gryffinex growled.  "I also know that without the armor given to you by the Empire, you have trouble controlling your abilities....so what happens....when I attack...you!"

Star backed away, her powers slowly restored things to normal.  While she backed away, Zac was recovering.  Before Gryffinex could get to Star, he found a sword pluging through to his heart.

He laughed.  Zac's eyes grew wide, and now he too backed away.  Gryffinex turned his attention back to him.

"Did you think," he said to Zac. "That with all this cybernetic technology, that a simple stab to the heart would kill me?  Please!  That was the first thing they replaced....and I have a back up...more than enough juice to finish you!"

Gryffinex pulled the sword from his chest and thrust it into Apook's own chest.

"ZAC!" Star cried.

"Heh...first Sabrina...now you..." Gryffinex said to her.  "I wonder if you will taste as sweet..."

Star began to shake.  But from behind Gryffinex, she saw Zac's body begin to radiate with a strange...but familiar energy.

"NO..."

Gryffinex paused.  He was blasted across the room by a beam of dark matter.

"What the hell?!"

Apooks body turned pitch black.  His clothes burned away by his new dark matter form.  A blueish glow surrounded him.  His bionic leg fell away and was replaced by a dark matter one.  Likewise his lost arm was replaced.

"Now you die...." Apook said.

Using his newfound powers Apook began to tear off all of Gryffinex's bionics from his body.  Gryffinex's broken form lay curled up in the middle of the floor, near the very spot Sabrina had been years ago.

"Please...." The snivelling creature begged.  "dont hurt me..."

Zac drew his blade to him telekinetically.  He made sure it was the High Society blade and not the Hairsplitter.  He knew that the Hairsplitter with its semi-sentient nature would not condone what he was about to do.

"Dont do it Zac!" Star called.

"Shut up Star!"

"Please!  Have mercy!!!"

"You have no idea what youve done to me...to my family," Zac said trying not to cry.

He lowered his sword.  Star seemed relieved.  She knew Zac wasn't a killer.  He would never be so cruel and even he couldnt hate someone so much that he'd kill them in cold blood.  Gryffinex laughed.  He saw this as a sign of weakness.

"I knew you would'nt have the balls for murder," he snorted.  "Go on...take me in...your Alliance will put me on trial and put me in a nice comfy prison.  Which I will easily escape from and then I'll kill--"

With a strike so quick that Star did'nt even see it, Apook sliced Gryffinex's head off.  As it rolled across the floor, Star threw up.  The rest of Gryffinex's broken body exploded.  With no brain to control the internal cybernetics it lost control.  Zac's body shuddered.  He returned to his normal form and collapsed on the floor.  The powers Sabrina gave to him with her death had seemingly faded.

"Oh God," Star said.  "Zac!  You....you can't be dead...."
