Thanks Graphite51 for the CP brushes! ANd thanks to hemiolan for the guide.
Clover Paint is an awesome Art app, best on Android.
Cheers
PS: Has anyone been able to successfully import PSDs? Export is fine. Seems I can only import Jpegs and PNG's.

You can import psd files by Tools -> File, then File -> Import -> PSD. It is recommended that you have a file manager app (eg: ES File explorer, Astro file manager etc) preinstalled.

Thank you for putting this guide together! I kept hearing good things about Clover but the UI kept putting me off. I'm glad I went back to it and just as glad I found your guide. ^^ I hope the creator links to it.

I've been working on making some custom brushes, I've uploaded them here: graphite451.deviantart.com/art…
Early days yet, I'm hoping to add more when I get a bit more practice at it.

Hi,
Do you know if there is a database of brushes available ? I am not very good at creating them and am trying to get brushes similar as those from artflow.
Regards,
Philippe

Sorry I don't know any yet. It might worth to take the question to Clover Paint facebook or twitter page, or the developer directly. Anyway the latest version should have decent number of brushes already. If it's not the case, you can import them from www.cloverpaint.net/images/bui… (please refer to section D1 for specific instruction).
Best.

In case you only want to desaturate a layer, put the black layer right above of the layer of interest, and switch the black layer's clipping mode to "Masked by opacity of the lower layer". These settings, including blending modes, can be accessed in the Layer setting page (long press on the layer and choose Settings).

In the current version, you can achieve the effect by putting a solid black layer on top and setting its blend mode to Saturation.

Sold. I've been looking for something to match up to desktop software for ages, and this looks like it outright beats what I have. Thanks for putting the effort in to making the guide!

oh, i just found out that when i paid the 20.00 for clover sc donate, that it doesn't upgrade you.. now i have to pay again for the eft.. sorry but i am on disability and cannot afford any more money.. i think it is terrible how you have made this so confusing.. if i were to upgrade, it would cost me over 40 dollars.. as nice as this art app is.. i will have to do with out.. i would appreciate you refunding me at the app store so that i can afford the eft upgrade.. i would also appreciate it if you make this a little more clear for furure buyers.. what i mean is maybe call the eft upgrade pro.. there are alot of people like myself that litterally do not have any extra income... the only reason i have a nice tablet was because it was left to me.. thank you.. my email is glendalecasselman@gmail.com. if you contact me i will give you my account gmail address as it is a little different..

You can long press on the handle bar (usually on the top) of the pallete/panel, choose Settings, and tick Force window visible. You might also tick Window trans hide button, which allows the pallete/panel to be minimised by pressing "-" button on the handle bar.

Is it possible to set up, eg, a clover with a sketch pencil and a small brush size (eg 1.5) and tap it to get the small pencil? When I try it seems to always default to 7.0.

hemiolan In reply to BrendanLearnsToSee [2013-11-10 19:43:33 +0000 UTC]
You should create different clovers (shortcuts) for different brushes. Also be advised that the clovers stored on the left panel do not remember your settings so you shouldn't place your shortcuts there.
If you have any other queries, please reach me at hemiolan@gmail.com. Sorry that I don't check dA very often these day

Thanks for the guide, just discovered this app and wanted to learn how to use it and using the gmd s pen app is what I'm most interested in
Seems a lot to learn but I've tried all the other art apps and each one was flawed and missing something
Still don't know how to import larger images or how to create my own brushes or use a shortcut for the colour brightness but I'll take time learning this as it's the best app I've used for my note 10.1

hemiolan In reply to ArtfullyBrian [2013-09-15 18:38:30 +0000 UTC]
You can import picture by Tools -> File and then File -> Import -> Image. You might practically import images of any sizes. Bad news is that you can't create custom brush atm. Still the developer, in one of our convo, said that he is working on this feature.
Also I don''t use GMD S-Pen but the Gesture Control as the former didn't play nice with my Note for some reason. Anyway GMD's apps are not a complementary, I just happened to find out that they make a great combination with Clover Paint! Please refer to the video in the updated description above to see the apps in action.

Thanks for making this guide Hemiolan! It's been very helpful. I just discovered this app today and am really loving it! Though it may at first seam a bit more daunting to use than say layer paint, sketchbook pro, or infinity painter, after a couple hours of using it, I actually find this one much easier and powerful. Hope it eventually gets the attention it deserves

You're welcome! The app is really amazing for what it does and deserve the attention that say Procreate on iOS has. Really hope the developer could make it more user-friendly.
*sorry for the late response, I'm not quite active on dA recently.
