Description (Aka where hoardes her babies.)

What an ordeal.  When I flipped open the paper to read the classifieds, I hadn't expected to be looking at Pokemon for sale.  Why would I need yet another mouth around here to feed and muddy feet to clean up after?  But this one...  this one kinda grabbed at my heart-strings...  Didn't help that he was also a Trapinch.  Gosh, do I adore Trapinch...

So it came to be, a quick discussion with one Elizabeth from the Sinnoh region.  I was informed that the little guy's name was Bryant and he had a small issue with his feet.  We discussed payment very briefly, and to my surprise Miss Elizabeth was rather open to training as a payment.  I was sold.

...Although I'm almost wishing that I had considered geography before excitedly saying "Yes!"  Cinnabar Island isn't exactly a short walk from Floaroma Town.  (Pfft, foreigners and their naming schemes.  No color to that town at all.)  The next few days were spent nervously deciding if it was easier to buy several expensive plane and ferry tickets or hope Angelus was up to carrying a passenger.  Debt looked safe.

Breeze musta seen the worry on my face, because she evolved out of nowhere.  I didn't relize how freaking huge Fearow were.  Even Breeze, a bit on the small size as a Spearow could look me in the eyes if she sat up straight.  Not even going to mention that beak.  Menacing.  ...Thankfully, she retained her sweet temperament and love of strawberries.  It didn't take long at all to get her flight ready.  The "flight controls" are still a bother, but Breeze handled the trip like a champ.  Between her and the "S.S Anne", we made it to the Sinnoh coast in 5 days.  Whoo!

I'd almost forgotten how much fun it was to travel.  I mean, it used to be more difficult, walking across the country with only a backpack and a handful of Pokemon - and all those bug catchers wanting to battle...  Those were the days.  Training on a ranch is by far easier, even if variety is a bit lacking.

The trip was awesome, but I digress...  Amithian Ranch.  Ho-ly-cow, is that place expansive.  Alot like home, but with stuff to actually look at.  There were so many flowers on the rolling hills that I almost hadn't noticed when three of Elizabeth's Pokemon snuck up to 'check me out'.  Cutest little dears, a light-colored Cyndaquil, a pinkish Meowth, and - Bryant!  He was doing his best to hide in the grass, but his orange color betrayed him.  Haha.  Can't hide from a crazy lady, Bryant.

I think he's aware of that now.

Breeze made an attempt at 'making nice' with the trio, but was a bit too frightening.  I switched her out briefly for someone a bit smaller and a great deal more rambunctious - Kola.  (And made a solid note about feeding Breeze all the candy when this was over.  Poor baby.)

Oh boy, Kola.

I.  I just...   Oi, Kola.  Just picture in your mind, if you will, a small pony with the temperament of a very large, overly friendly puppy.  That's Kola.  She barked and chuffed and ran circles areound all three of Elizabeth's brave adventurers, kinda-sorta forcing them into making friends.  I'm kinda glad their trainer wasn't exactly around to take note of my poor control.  x'D  Whew, saved by trespassing!

I guess all this is a bit boring.  I mean, nobody logs onto FaceSpace to see that someone else is having piles of fun and you aren't invited.  That's super-ultra lame.  We'll just skip past the 'it's okay to talk to strangers, have some candy' portion of my visit and to the training bit - because that's all I was supposed to do.  Train a Cyndaquil.  I can totally handle that.  Had this great bit awesome plan involving TMs and rare candy!  ...That kinda got derailed.  But only a tiny bit.  After Kola rounded up all of our 'volunteers', we all took off running towards this winding river that flowed between the rolling hills.  Kola handled this with great excitement, the pink Meowth ran only to not be caught by the audacious hybrid, the Cyndaquil bobbed along at a slower pace, seemingly waiting for Bryant to catch up, and the Trapinch bobbled along as fast as one could expect a Trapinch to do.  He outran the hell outta me.  Not sure if that's awesome for him or a sign that I need to do this waaay more often...

>___>

But we made it to the river.  That was the inportant thing.  Flowers were trampled and water splashed, it was fantastic.  At some point Breeze was let back out, though she spent this time practicing her 'crane style' and wading in the middle of the river.  Between two fire types, a cat, and a nubbly grount ant thing, she was a bit lonely in the water.

I spent at least a few hours rolling around with the little orange guy and wrestling the Cyndaquil while the Meowth looked on unamused.  Was kinda like being 6 years old again, when Pokemon were the most funnest thing around.  Right up until Kola wanted to go running again.  There's not enough "NOPE" on the internet.

Unless youre a Cyndaquil, I guess.  Little guy was all over that challenge.  He and Kola ran enough circles around this one patch of grass that it got impossible to tell which set of tracks was the most recent.  Made a right mess of the whole thing, really.  Somewhere along the line, it turned into a competition between the two (an incredibly unfair one, at that - like watching a toddler race... a toddler with much longer legs) and the two started pouting wildly flickering flames.

Bryant snuck onto the 'track' at some point, something I hadn't noticed with the most recent kicking up of dirt.  He was doing pretty well until Kola (dangit, girl) nearly tranpled him around a bend.  I scrambled out on fat, tired, and sore legs to grab 'im while the two flares continued running.  ...Almost wish I hadn't, if only for the upset looks I was getting from the little guy as we sat and watched.  Eeee...   whoops.  Didn't mean to coddle 'im, but he did almost get squished.

I'd get after Kola later.  She's got a bit of training to do herself, after all.  Something like 'etiquette', I think it's called.  Wasn't about to do it right away, though.  Between her bright oranges and reds, and the Cyndaquil's glorious purple and pinks, I didn't want to get mixed up in anything.  ...Until I called "Last lap!", anyway.  They'd been running neck and neck for half a minute, flames almost jumping up from their footprints. This was it, winner take all~

The Meowth sat at rapt attention, watching the both, and the Trapinch squirmed in my grasp, trying to encourage the Cyndaquil to victory.  The mouse's fire blazed more jaggedly and full, and Kola lowered her head, nostrils flared.  Fire encompassed both of their forms, scorching many a grass blade along the edges of the path.  The two flames jousted for the lead, until finally, purple burst forward and skidded to a triumphant halt.  Kola tripped and rolled once or twice, plopping into a tired heap of happy ponydog.

...I think... they both won?  Not sure.  Bit too shocked by the flaming bullets to decide.  All I know is...  I should probably...  Find Elizabeth and get these guys some food and water.  ...x'D  And also announce that I'm here.  Not sure she's fond of her babies running themselves exhausted.  Aaaand since I don't exactly have pokeballs for all present, it looks like we'll be doing some carry-work.

...Wheee~  my fat hurts.

(1,288 words of varying importance)

(So, drawing and writing after a long run when you are actually fat and outta shape affects your writing.  Heavily.  Behold.  I am tired.  *PLOP*  Also, this took waaay too long.  x'D  Been trying to paint a convincing-ish picture forever.  ...Still got some ways to go.  >__>  )
