Description
Henry And Edward were part of my childhood. when I was younger I was very happy that there was a Thomas and friends character that's named Henry just like me, to me Henry was very repeatable and he acts just like me with the worrisome, friendly, and sometimes vain persona. Henry just for the fact that he is the only character that's an experimental hybrid locomotive before the experimental locomotives James and Percy came along he was the only one in the shed.I love Edward and Henry there one of my favorite characters for this show/books. I like Gordon as well and how no one know despite Henry being a hybrid of a C1 Atlantic and a prototype A1 pacific you could say that they are related in some way only Rev Wilbert Awdry knows if they are.
I fact Sir Nigel Gresley A1 Pacific named Great Northern was the first big express locomotive ever built for the GNR, She also served as the inspiration for the A1/ A3 class but believe or not she also served as the inspiration for the Popcorn A1 Class. In real life in the National Railway Museum there's a preserved C1 Atlantic named Henry Oakley. Henry Oakley was round the same time as Great Northern and worked for the same railway the Great Northern Railway.
It begs the unanswered question "In the Thomas and Friends universe can locomotives have children?" I dose beg the question because if Hybrid Locomotives are a thing wouldn't that mean that two locomotives from complicity different race can have children or at least were given children of there own by the railway cos.
Whats interesting is that Henry's locomotive designer William Thompson built him by using the blueprints from Sir Nigel Gresley's A1 Pacific Prototype named Great Northern and the blue prints form the first GNR C1 Atlantic Henry Oakley and created Henry as prototype locomotive for a class. However, when he realized that both Great Northern and Henry Oakley were the first of there class meaning that they were both successful prototypes Henry was a failure. After Henry was sold the the Fat Controller/Sir Topham Hatt, William Thompson reused Henry Hybrid design but fixed the firebox issue for another of his newest class the Antelope class also known as the Thompson B1.
In Edwards is a K2 locomotive but in fact he was at one point he was JGR Class 5100. Edward was illustrated as one of there in "Edwards day out/Edward and Gordon" because he was one of those at one point.
If Edward and Henry don't come back in season 22 onward I'm will be so disappointed on the franchise that was part of my child hood mostly.
