THE BOOK OF ASSASSINS

Il Libro di Assassini (it's Italian title) was a 12th Century tome that described every possible way to kill a human being. It's pages contained recipes for poisons that could cause death within seconds, or years later; as well as curses, and formula for summoning invisible killers.
Legend has it that Hasan-i Sabbah, founder of the murderous Nizari Ismailis cult was presented with the book by a powerful Ifrit after performing certain rituals and sacrifices in the desert.
The tome vanished around the time of his death, and has reportedly turned up only once, in the possession of the head of an unnamed House in Venice around 1650. It's current whereabouts, if it still exists are unknown.
