Description
Well, this one was really pending for a while.anyway, what can i say about this? this is the hyper form of Necria Necria the Undead
Its a friggin giant skeleton monster, which is fitting for the skeleton undead character.
One thing to note : the hair.
Since necria starts as a base skeleton, there is no physical cues that can tell that she is a woman. there might be the fact that its the skeleton of a woman but necria does not know enough about anatomy to make that distinction.
So, since necria doesn't know yet that she is a woman (though look for body language cues, they are still there) until she upgrade her undead forms and until she gains skin, her giant skeleton hyper form has no hair.
only once she gains her look does she gain hair in that form.
I guess i should say something else.
I know, more world building.
In this game, all of the 12 playable characters have a personal sidequest that can be accomplished in the later part of the game. it allows them to unlock some of their strongest stuff.
Though not all of them have been thought out.
Lets start with Yeren Yeren the Heizhen
This one is one of the least developped.
Its planned that he reach a lizardman village.
There he meet a lizard girl. There will be a moment between these two but its planned that the aftermath doesn't go anywhere else than a fling(is that the correct word?).
Also, its planned that his best axe weapon, Ganatheim, which is the axe of his final form Right Leg of the Ouroboros
though i haven't thought out how he gain it. i don't think it will be in the lizardman village.
Next will be ....ummm... whats his name again? oh wait, he doesn't have one yet. infested Infested
He'll have a weapon sidequest like yeren but instead of finding a weapon, he'll power up his original weapon for the third and final time to make it his ultimate weapon.
His personnal sidequest is that he wants to be a bandit. The quest will involve joining a bandit clan. He'll class change from warrior to bandit and gain the "Pillage" ability which allows him to steal when he attacks since hes a bandit and not a thief.
Next is Dragunov the golem Dragunov the Golem
His sidequest is a long term sidequest with bits and pieces accomplished throughout the game. at certain places, he encounter other golems (wood and coral for example) that have found an affinity for an element, enough to to be permanently associated with it. He will be inspired with that sort of personal dedication and decide to do the same, going to an earthen place (temple?) where his Race will change from Golem to Earth Elemental. This will have the unfortunate side effect of making him summonable but it won't have an effect in-game, but then again....i could make something funny for a cutscene. Physically, there might not be change and if there is, it will not be much.
On a side note, after the sidequest, its possible to fight a group battle with all the elemental golems encountered in game in the Arena with another option to fight the group battle with Dragunov in the opposite team and no cheating with removing his equipment, he'll have optimized equipment so that he fights at his best, so if you found his best equipment, he'll have it equipped. On a side note, of that golem group, dragunov will be the only earth-aligned golem, just to subvert the usual and so common golem=earth thing.
Anyway, the Coral golem (a female golem but with a body type not unlike dragunov), associated with water, will be the chronological last golem reached. It'll be a very fun sequence since the characters have to reach an underwater city for it though its not the original reason to reach that city, she is just located there.
Most of the times in games, an underwater level is always drab and of little interest.
in my game, it will be different, i know the variety of underwater landscapes (algae forest, coral reefs, black smokers).
Also, the most different thing is that there won't be a MacGuffin to make the characters breath underwater. NO CHEATING!
The solution? send those that doesn't require to breathe or that are adaptable!
Skeleton, golem , robot and doppelganger!
It'll also make the characters have to stay to the sea floor since Necria and Dragunov are physically incapable of swimming so no unwieldy swimming mechanic and the two characters that can will use the flying mechanic.
Robot will acquire a specific underwater body since although he doesn't require to breathe, his mechanical parts still needs special adaptation to water. Meanwhile, doppelganger will acquire the body parts of sea creatures on beaches and shores.
Thats getting long so i'll stop after the next one
Next and last one for now is Devil Final Devil
She'll have an encounter in a temple with a giant demon with a really huge sword (think iron giants from final fantasy) that will really question and insult her faith and herself. She fight solo, mano-a-womano
Long story short, she gets defeated and her priest medallion get destroyed. just as the giant demon is about to destroy her, she struggles to get up yet has a sudden mysterious air about it. the demon swing his sword but, surprisingly, she catches it!
She then start talking in a very male voice.
In fact, its the god of mental chaos and confusion : Bénophal! He took possession of the body of his faithful.
He just couldn't stand that the demon insulted him, the faith of his priest and the priest herself. The drop that overflown the bucket was the destruction of the priest medallion. All of this incited him to intervene personally.
He'll then have a talk in the mind of Devil about how hes proud to have such a great faithful as a priest and to not be afraid to defend it or something. anyway, its a very comforting talk, which can be strange to hear such peaceful and serene talk coming from an evil god of chaos (yes, he is). He then change her Class from Dark Priest to Dark High Priest.
Anyway, after the talk, she is fully restored the battle restart for round 2, except this time Devil gained a few new spells with that class change.
-First of all is the ability to summon a divine avatar (the battle with the demon starts with one already on the field).
-Second, She gain the Divine spell of Chaos available to priest of gods of chaos (generic spell).
-Third is an exclusive spell to Bénophal priests. the name is still pending (i need something cool sounding) but its a chaos attack that strikes the mind (so its psychic in nature) and inflict heightened confusion status and can even bypass resistance to it and it can be put to great effect on the demon battle.
It also has the added bonus of being especially effective against psychic creatures, even if they would normally have heightened defences against that type of attack. the reason is that its a chaos type High-level psychic attack while most psychic attacks are order aligned since for psychic creatures, they need a stable mind to use their powers. they can still use some chaos aligned psychic attack but they are all very low level since its about keeping the psychic's mind stable while inflicting chaos in the mind of another. Worshipping Bénophal pretty much bypass all that though since hes the protector of the mad, he cannot be worshipped by psychics since his chaotic mind divine portfolio would pretty much incapacitate psychics and stop them from being able to use psychic abilities (unlike psychic type SPELLS which aren't linked to the mind's power).
Also, another bonus to Bénophal worship is that he procure high psychic EVASION, which is a really rare stat unlike psychic RESISTANCE. Psychic can tap into chaotic thoughts as an ability (in-battle skill) but since they need to keep their mind stable, that chaos is very slight and so is the bonus which only grant 5%-10% evasion. Bénophal can grant up to 50% evasion as passive skill + 25% more as an in-battle spell (affect all party) granted with the class change.
There is also an early sidequest where Devil can learn meditation techniques to make her mind overflow with random thoughts (which is ironically the opposite goal of real life meditation) while keeping herself stable, raising her starting evasion from 30% to 50%. The other party members can also try it in a group meditation but since they are not worshippers of Bénophal, the increase is slight (10%) though its still better than nothing.
I haven't decided yet about if characters other than Devil should have a starting psychic evasion stat, however slight it is, since that would mean everyone in the world would have that same base evasion.
I think it will and that base evasion will be 5%-10%.
Well, that was long and i only made a third of the characters i expected to make.
