I do a lot of the same things as you, like making different sections of the body... I hate when you make a mistake and have to start over. Especially, if you are old-school like me and use MSpaint

That's Oekaki, since you drew it first. Pixel art is made pixel by pixel on Paint with the pencil tool, in it's purest form anyways.

I guess I can understand the pixel art = pure pixel (though it'd be a pain the butt for me to attempt it without a sketch underneath), but I wouldn't consider it oekaki either.. Since I didn't use an oekaki at all.
